Tingle RPG Going Across the Pond?

January 5th, 2007 at 12:58 am by The Missing Link

Unlike what some people think, America doesn’t get everything. At least so says the report right now from GoNintendo. They have an article up saying that Tingle RPG might be Europe-bound sometime during 2007. There’s no official date yet, and this could turn up false, but it just goes to show you that, sometimes, America just isn’t all that.

I bet Masa will be sad if it doesn’t come out outside of Japan -But, yeah, totally. I remember back in the 90’s, before they thought RPG’s could sell well.. a lot of games would come out in countries other than America… (and then there’s also a lot of good manga that gets translated for Europe, but not for America! Sux0rz)

PLEASE DON’T COME!!! Quickly torches and pitchforks. M-16s, rocket launchers, kunais, shuriken, and lots of flamable liquid!

Just carrying on tradition. Anyhow, I don’t really care if it comes out over here or not. I won’t buy it. If my sister buys it then maybe I’ll try it, but I’m not spending my hardly-hard-earned money on something so dumb as a spin-off. Especially one about the dumbest character in any game since that blonde chick from Baten Kaitos.

You know I have to admit im strangely interested in seeing what this game is like, I just hope that it dosent have a Ringu (Japanese movie) style curse where in Tingle climes out of your tv screen after 7 days to kill you unless you show the game to someone else, lol.

BTW We also got the gold plated Zelda GBA before you Americans, lol.

Woohoo!!!!!! Tingle RPG!!!!!! I was so sad when it wasn’t leaving Japan…I thought it wouldn’t come!T_T But, It’s coming! To Europe! 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to get that game, for sure! Now all we need is the “Tingle ballon fight! ;) But, yeah, I’m gonna get it! Oh, joy!

Correction: America didn’t get the gold-plated Zelda GBA at all outside of some stupid contest thingy. I almost ALMOST imported one from Australia. :P

Wasn’t it just… painted Gold? xD

Anyways. Extremely glad to see we’re getting it over here, and I can’t wait to play, I’ve heard it’s a very interesting and funny game.

No way buddy it wasnt just painted gold, it has the Triforce and the crest of the Hyilian Royal Family on it, its the coolest thing I have ever bought (Secret of Mana with box undamaged, Instruction booklet and map all in perfect condition is the second coolest) I keep it in its box and NEVER use it, im keeping that baby in percect condition.

Thank the gods it’s not coming to America! :)

*sigh* translating tingle rpg when they could be translating fire emblem(s) 1 to 6…

Don’t be so quick to count your Cuccos before they’ve hatched…

nintendo must have something against europe ;) .it is funny that nintendo is only releasing it in one area though,a lack of…confidence maybe :P ? if it were anything else I would be very jealous and angry but i’ll let this one slide :D (you can keep it,too ).

I dont care if it comes to N America, I just wont buy it

Im not sure whether to be happy or sad. I never really liked Tingle, but I do like buying all Zelda games. I think i’ll let this one slide. LOL. ^_^

There’s hope for us yet: Hackers who go into the game and translate the text. It’s really complex, but sadly a lot of projects (ESPECIALLY FOR FIRE EMBLEM!) have died a sorrowful death…

*Sighs* it looks like Japan is never going to hand over that kind of stuff that wasn’t originally released in a certain region. This goes double for most of FE.

Thee’s hope, and then, there is disillusionment.

    isnt that kinda err.. illegal?

You know, I wouldn’t really mind if it came over to the States. I don’t approve of Tingle’s existence, yes, but since I am a die hard Zelda fan, I would probably buy it, painfully complete it, and then store it away for infinite time.

I’m still shaking as I write this comment because… I JUST GOT MY WII AND TP BABY! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven’t played TP as fof this second, but after I finish this I will.

Um. I just noticed this comment. I had no idea you could do that. I’m pretty drarn sure it is illegal, but if it’s not and you can get away with it easily, I’d like to know how ;) , seriously and sacastically.

if it was legal it would be kinda cool to do, they should make games like tvs, how you have to pick what language you want it to have :D

The thing I’m trying to make about this, is that even with the virtual console, some games that would be REALLY nice, would get overlooked because of region lockout. Games like Fire Emblem, and the HORDES of mecha robot games. (gundam comes to mind)… Nintendo has an oppurtunity to release stuff that didn’t get a chance to get released in a certain market, like america, and Europe.

Nintendo has an oppurtunity to make live, the classics that few in other countries have had the oppurtunity to play. But it doesn’t look like the release of an old game that never appeared will be likely with the virtual console…

Funny, how this topic started with Tingle, and I’m making a point about really good games that have a great interest, but in all likelihood, won’t get released because of the complications that can insue for games with the PAL region and NTSC region. I read that virtual console games played on PAL had messed up timing.

It’s a complicated matter, but it looks doubtful that these foreign masterpieces will ever make their way to europe or America.

Games like Fire Emblem 1-6 and Earthbound 1 and 3…

i was creeped out enough in mm with tingle. its kinda sad they had to make his own game. i think tingle’s only victory was the ability to play as a second player in ww. i thought that was freaking cool! international “olympic scores- stickmen= rigga blagga roxxorgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

well.. then i guess i’ll just have to learn how to read jappanese, get the jappenese units and games, i already can read 3 words in jappanese from playing FE 6, they are: Roy, Lilina and hehehe o_O

I hope this news is true, I’m curious to see what the Tingle game is like!

I hope tingle never comes over here! *Shakes broadsword*

it would be like a slap in the face if tingle makes his way here and fire emblem dosnt.honestly,I dont know why they dont just translate them and ship them here,it cant be that expensive.I probably wouldnt mind playing it in jappanese…im sure I could find a text translation somewhere.the problem is they dont work like game boy games, you need the unit it was intended for.

buuut, best of luck to tingle…….I hope he comes here and dies :P .

Totally. And if they sold them in Europe and America I’m sure they would get enough profit out of it that it wouldn’t be a problem. I would definetely buy any Fire Emblem that they re-release, and other games as well. They could do it over the Virtual Console, right? I don’t know. Either way they could do it, I think. :?

I think we all agree on one thing here. Anyone wants to march on Nintendo?
    Just kidding.

I’ve always wonderer just why the *Navi* are there games solely released for a single market. I mean, it’s obvious, obvious, obviousss, my preciousss, that games released everywhere yield bigger profit that games released only in Japan, or the Americas, or Europe.

…or am I showing off my complete lack of understading of the sciences of marketing?

Heh, actually… Usually they won’t translate or ship out games for one market the same reason they don’t often ship out or make unedited versions of anime and manga: culture shock.

But with the possibilities of the virtual console at hand, they should, nay MUST make translations of each of the games we’ve missed out on, Most of them being RPG’s…

But apparently, “PAL” and “NTSC” regions are so ‘big’ and ‘complicated’ a hassle, that they aren’t willing to do crap to release games in other markets with different TV regions.

But darnit, making the games available virtually would be a HUGE plus, because the games are available for everyone and aren’t susciptable to copy shortages, as with games that have a very limited release. Meaning: they could garner a substantial profit at minimal effort (all they would have to do is TRANSLATE the game, and maybe adjust from NTSC to PAL regions), that way EVERYONE’S happy.

But apparantly, nintendo and other companies don’t know how badly we want the imports, thinking and claiming falsely that we don’t know about them, therefore, we won’t care. HUGE mistake.

    I agree 100%, Uchiha.

The anti-theft/fraud laws here are too strict for tingle to survive in. Without soem sort of supernatural protection, he ain’t got a snowball’s chance in hell.

Hey, I’m all for this. I’d be thrilled were this the case, because then I could just import a UK copy of the game and be the happiest Tingle fan this side of the Atlantic.

Interesting. I really want Tingle RPG to come to the states! So what if it’s Tingle… it looks dang fun.

I mean come on what’s the point of it? To get rupees? To become a pixie dust addict fairy? It just looks really stupid. Almost dumber than this one RPG that I don’t think ever got realeased for the DS. It was about some kid who had to go on a million sidequests to get a present to give the king so he could be an adult or something like that. No violence, no monsters, no badly time uses of a certain four letter d-word. Sometimes I long for the cliches

I’m hoping for a North American release also, but if not, I can always try to scrounge up enough money to get it from Europe. Sure, it may look stupid, but sometimes stupid is fun.

    Shinigami Ninja said:

While maiming several monsters may be fun, games don’t always have to have violence involved. Sometimes, it’s more fun to test your brain then your strength.

As for the whole “They should translate Fire Emblem instead of Tingle RPG,” why not both? If you really hate Tingle so much and insist on having a closed mind towards him, then just do what others have said they’ll do and don’t buy the game.

its not that we want fire emblem to be translated instead of tingle RPG (perish the thought ;) ),its just that nobody wants to see tingle come here and fire emblem not to.probably because FE is an extremely popular series that people really want to see expand, while on the other hand tingle RPG is the result of a “funny” character nintendos trying to premote (if you ask me “tingle RPG” is just plain random, why not make a merlinus RPG?).

as far as im concerned, this tingle thing is probably a failed terrorist attempt by some crazy iraqian… jk. of course, im not buying it.

At least FE6. It was really mean to put roy in a game, then only give us the prequel to the game was in.

it does sort of leave something to be desired, but the way I see it its better than nothing.nintendo dosnt show the slightest sign of translating any of them, they never did…thats why we got the japanese version.in the end though its a small answer to a big problem,as I said before getting the other 5 wouldnt be nearly as easy.

Oh well. At least I can find solace in the fact that Naruto is coming to the daily line-up for Cartoon Network. And Becoming the Archetype has a new CD that’s almost ready to ship. Oh, and the fact that PH comes out in 300 days.

ph, 300 days! woo… hoo… okay, im really sad now XO
