Gamecube Twilight Princess Ganked [updated] October 19th, 2006 at 11:37 pm by The Missing Link[UPDATE: As soon as I put something up, it gets stricken out. NOA has confirmed that the GCN version of Twilight will be sold in retail outlets on December 13.] GameCube Zelda is not having a good day. First it was Japan that announced that Twilight Princess would not be sold in stores; you’d only be able to find it online. Then there was Australia selling the GameCube version only through EB Games. Yes, the GameCube version of Twilight is going nowhere fast, and all of the product databases of the brick-and-mortar stores are proof in the pudding. This is no doubt an obvious attempt to sell more Wii systems this holiday season, forcing people to jump through hoops for Zelda that isn’t Wii-based. Though they’re not killing it altogether, I’d say the supply of GCN Twilights will be slim to none this coming December. Bad move Nintendo, bad move.

Oh peachy. I’m going to have to wait an eternity for Twilight Princess. Thanks a bunch Nintendo. Not to mention how unfair it is for them to delay it, and then make it harder to get on the older system so they can boost sales on the next-gen system. Nice money making technique, but it still sucks.

Hey Nintendo, way to show you care about the gamers!
Seriously, Nintendo’s starting to act like a computer company, forcing consumers to get the latest equipment/system in order to use high demand products. I honestly hope their Wii sales are horribly lower than they expected. Maybe that’ll teach them that to stop their malicious and cruel greed.

This is a total load of BS.
Way to go Nintendo! You know how much more crap Sony fanboys will make out of you guys and us because you keep delaying (well, sorta kinda) the next best thing you have??? And trying to make people buy a Wii for TP just so you can get more sales than Sony and Microsoft???? Smooth… YOU WILL GET LESS SALES!!!! Not many people are going to buy it! You dissapointed a lot of people with the $250 (which is still fine in my opinion, but not in others’s with different situations, like FAMILY GAMERS, THE WHOLE GODDESSBLESSED POINT ABOUT THE WII!!!!) and you are going to get less sales already, and now throw this out??? This is truly sad. If it wern’t for games like Zelda, FE, some FF, some RE, and so on, I’d let the *navi* hit the fan and say screw it with you guys. I’ve had enough of this crap.

I don’t mind. (That may be because Im getting a Wii, but…) Nin thendo is in LASSSTTT PLACE. If they DON’T make gamers buy the newest gizmo, you can say goodbye to our favorite game series. While this might hurt them for this holidy season, it will NOT hurt them in the long run because…
)
1. Any serious Zelda gamer will have to get the Wii sooner or later because of the once-announced-but-quicky-forgottem wii Zelda coming out in a year or two.(Or three If they keep delaying it
2. Nintendo is still going to win with the Wii. There’s the whole you-can buy-two-wiis-and-Tp-and-a-controller for less than the PS3.
There. Now are you happy?

True. But if Nintendo doesn’t get some kick *navi* releases like SSB:B and Mario Galaxy and so on out on store shelves soon, they’re gonna get thwamped like so many years before. Let’s just hope for the best…

I must disagree
1. TP,
Metroid, Excite Truck, andSSBBare all ready for launch. Don’t wanna overdo it.2. They had practically no 3rd party support for GCN. They got it now, so Nintendo can afford to spread out their releases.
Tell me though, what’s up with the region lock? It makes gamers mad, and what are they gonna do anyways? Oh yeah, buy more games!

Nintendo is losing it. I think they’re giving up or something.
October 21st, 2006 at 3:12 pm [quote]
No Way! They’re not giving up, just continuing with their “secret plan”. In case you’ve been under a rock for the last year, that lan is to risk everything- Nintendo’s giving all or nothing. I predict that if Nintendo suceeds, there will be world peace. (a.k.a., we get twice as many great games from nintendo due to a larger budget) If they fail, bye-bye Nintendo. This is just a way to raise the stakes.

by then the wii will probably be affordable (eh…maybe) .
I think this is probably the stupidist thing nintendo has done.honestly, its childish if you stop and think about it.they probably know alot of people arent going to get a wii (for alot of reasons,im in every one I think
) and did this to save themselves.ill just wait,I have patience…some…maybe…well I can wait! (we all waited what?
5003 years? ).October 21st, 2006 at 6:24 pm [quote]

This is another point. The Wii got so much leeway, with the competition $300, 400, 500, and 600. They abused it and did the most reasonably possible (and still fulfilled their promise of $250 or under).
A part of me hopes the Xbox 360 will go down to $250… If Microsoft can figure out how to make money on a console.
The question I have, is how much does Wii cost to make?
October 21st, 2006 at 7:15 pm [quote]
Not much methinks. Well maybe they can get good graphics on the next console with all the money they make on this one.

I see… This whole issue still torques me off though.

Also, don’t forget about the virtual console. Nintendo will get a lot of moolah and we save a lot of moolah… It’s a win-win situation. (Except if you’re GameStop- Who wants to bet that they’ll go out of business?

The thing is that this is probaly the biggest console wars ever almost everything is at stake. I mean if sony doesn’t win with the PS3 they’re out of buisness(witch is sad because the PS3 probaly won’t win)so here is what I think will happen…
Microsoft moves his guys in. Nintendo moves his guys out. Sony moves his guys in. Microsoft kills Sony’s guys. While Microsoft is busy Nintendo moves in and attacks.Microsoft anticapates this and kills some of Nintendo”s men. Nintendo retreats.
So
1.Microsoft
2.Nintendo
3.Sony
And thats what I think will happen.

alot of zelda fans are against nintendos actions because thier zelda fans (since they may not be able to play the games).plus, zelda fan or not, nintendos actions have been far from acceptable…almost childish.
